Things to Come!

Just wanted to break regular programming to announce that the Uncanny X-Periment will be shifting a little bit over the next few months.   There will be a slow down in regular X-Periment up-dates, as I'm still trying to get caught up.

MEANWHILE!

Next month, expect a brand-new twice weekly up-date!  To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the X-Men, I will be posting short review/summaries of  the TOP FIFTY X-MEN STORIES EVER!  This will start 7/1.  Be ready!  Be X-CITED!

(sorry)

Be there, true believer!

Up-Dates Coming

Sorry about the lack of up-dates lately. Things have gotten pretty busy here. I meant to review X-Men: Emperor Vulcan for weeks now, I was so disappointed in the ending of this series that I just didn't feel like it. You'll see an X-Periment entry by the end of the week, though.

The future of this blog has been decided, by the way.

Like I mentioned, Emperor Vulcan will show up by the end of the week. When Giant-Sized Astonishing X-Men comes out, you'll see that post made (and moved, I think) within the week of that. For the most part, that'll put us pretty much up-to-date.

As far as "Divided We Stand" goes, I'm a little uncertain. At the moment, I'm only buying three X-Books - Uncanny X-Men, X-Men Legacy, and Wolverine Origins. Y'all might just have to wait for the trades to show up before I tackle X-Force, Wolverine, and Young X-Men.

If I get really bored, I'll post an X-Periment for "X-Men: Die by the Sword."

Not sure about "Secret Invasion." If an X-Men tie-in is released (other than X-Factor), I'll pick it up. Not doing what I did with Civil War though (which is all messed up for some reason -- it's missing a large chunk of its review).

As things calm down around here, expect some other entries. I plan on going back and doing reviews of other X-Books including X-Force/X-Statix, Exiles, X-Factor, etc. as soon as I pick them up. Which might be a while, but I have a lot of comics. It'll be fine.

I have some other things cooked up, but it will most definetly have to wait a few months.

The reason why things are slowing down here (other than the fact that we're pretty much in the present) is because on top of school and work, I'm also getting married in September. It's expensive and time-consuming. So, pretty much after mid-October (post-honeymoon), this blog will be up-dated more often.

In the meantime, stay tuned and thanks for stopping by.

A Minor Milestone

Hello all you guys and gals!

Though you won't notice it until next week (or perhaps even the week after that), the Uncanny X-Periment is completely up-to-date. Yes, that's right. I just read all of Messiah Complex, which now only leaves us with whatever comics are coming out on a week-by-week basis.

I'm not sure as to what this means for the Uncanny X-Periment. On the one hand, it's kinda nice to not have about ten stacks of comics sitting next to my bed, waiting for me to crack 'em open, and then write about them. But on the other hand, I want to keep this blog somewhat active.

I'm reluctant to go on an issue-by-issue up-date. I think it kinda harms the intention of this blog, as my goal was to take specific eras of the X-Men and offer overviews/reviews of said eras. This worked quite while with Wolverine: Origins, as the quality of this series actually improved when all of the so-called "first act" is put together.

I'm pretty sure you'll see activity here for at least the next month. I'm going to be posting the "Civil War" entries daily after I get my computer back up and running (and thus having access to my back-dated entries). After that, there will be a spot reserved for Astonishing X-Men, and then Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire. Which is then followed by Red Data and Endangered Species. That will ultimately get us to Messiah Complex.

I'm fairly certain that by the time we get to Messiah Complex, X-Men: Emperor Vulcan will be completed. I may even toss in X-Men: Die by the Sword for kicks and giggles. So that's some material right there.

As for the future of this blog, I haven't quite decided. As strange as it sounds, February is big X-Men month for me. It was the month that, in 1992, I picked up my first issue of Uncanny X-Men and X-Factor. So I may do something to celebrate that event. I may also do a few articles and observations and the like.

We'll cross that bridge when we get there, though. I figure, by the time I get the "last" entry up, I'll have a clear answer as to what the future holds of this blog.

Intermission: Just a Few Things

Hello Interweb land! It's me, thew40!

I'm pausing in my reading/reviewing for just a moment to put a few things out there.

First of all . . . how many people read this thing? I'm aware of three (a fellow blogger, a guy who commented, and someone from the Avengers Assemble! boards), but who else is out there? I'm not begging of course, but I'm just curious and wouldn't mind some feedback.

Secondly, I need to make mention of a couple of issues/problems this blog could be facing down the line. The biggest one of all is the fact that we are slowly but surely catching up the regular MU. By my calculations, I'll be up to speed by the time the current "Endangered Species" story concludes at the end of November. Now, that being said, here's the issue we have . . .

The "Onslaught Reborn" mini-series suffered a major delay. Even though there is one more issue to come out, I have no idea when it'll be. This may mess us up a bit.

Then there's the current story in "Astonishing X-Men," which is hard to place continunity-wise, as well as needing 2-3 more issues until it wraps up. This is major problem. What I may end up doing is reserving a number for it and then, when the last of it comes out, go back and retroactively post the review. What does everyone think of that?

As far as the frequency of up-dates go, I can't promise anything. I'm working, I'm going to school, and I'm planning my wedding. Life is busy and sometimes comics need to take a back seat. But I'll do my best, dang it!

Okay, well, back to the show . . .
